Indian Coaches Coming to America for training!


As part of US Department of State Grant, George Mason University & jdBASKETBALL  (www.jdbasketball.com) 10 Indian coaches will visit the Fairfax VA campus (www.GMU.edu) from July 2- 12 to undergo intense training courses.

The mission for the program is to develop cross cultural connections thru sports and this exchange is part of a three step approach as the American coaches, Dr. Bob Baker, Craig Esherick, and JD Walsh have visited India November 2009 and April 2010 conducting basketball camps in Kolkata, Delhi,  Chennai and Bangalore (with the Mens’ senior national team).

The program leaders, Professors Craig Esherick and Robert Baker designed a schedule which includes top on court and off court activities. Coaches will learn about coaching philosophy, nutrition, strategy as well as marketing and organization. Attendees will learn the HS, college and professional US System first hand Upon completion of the program, the coaches shall receive NASSM coaching certificate.

Included in the program, the coaches will have the chance to visit our nations capital. beautiful Washington, DC and view a Major League Baseball Game.

The coaches were selected by in-country Indian partner BFI (Basketball Federation of India).
